THRUST 2 – Microstructured and multi-functional optical fibres

Development of optical fibres with accurately controlled values of non-linearity and dispersion. Until recently the fabrication of MOFs was only mastered for silica glass but there is now a strong interest for developing such waveguides using mid-IR glasses such as chalcogenides, germanates and tellurites.*

Development of Tellurite glasses and their microstuctured fibres for supercontinuum generation

For applications such as: Optical Coherence Tomograph, Infrared contermeasures, remote sensing of chemical species, etc.

IMPACT

Production of low loss fibres for supercontinuum generation beyond 4 microns.
