THRUST 2 – Microstructured and multi-functional optical fibres

Development of optical fibres with accurately controlled values of non-linearity and dispersion. Until recently the fabrication of MOFs was only mastered for silica glass but there is now a strong interest for developing such waveguides using mid-IR glasses such as chalcogenides, germanates and tellurites.*

Nonlinar and plasmonic effects associated with microstructured and nanostructured fibres.

Design of predictive and comprehensive models to assist in the development of fibres and micro/nano structures (collaboration with Hassan Manouzi, mathematics dept., U. Laval)
