THRUST 2 – Microstructured and multi-functional optical fibres

Development of optical fibres with accurately controlled values of non-linearity and dispersion. Until recently the fabrication of MOFs was only mastered for silica glass but there is now a strong interest for developing such waveguides using mid-IR glasses such as chalcogenides, germanates and tellurites.*

Multifunctional silica fibre : combined electrical and optical measurements for neurological applications.

Development of multifunctional fibres from silica and other glasses (notably heavy metal oxydes) combining electrical and optical functionalities for neurological applications. A collaboration with COPL colleagues Yves De Koninck, Daniel Côté (CRULRG), and Réal Vallée (COPL).
