Research fields : 

Younès Messaddeq is a world-renowned leader in materials for optics and photonics.

His principal fields of interest and research focus on novel vitreous materials, silicia optical fibres, exotic fibres such as chalcogenides, germanates and tellurites, heavy metals, micro and nano-structured materials and optical devices. 

 

Current projects :

  • Ultra-low loss middle infrared glasses;
  • Microstructured and multi-functional optical fibres;
